Calavo Growers Inc (CVGW US, +1, 21-Apr-25)
Lecil Cole (CEO since March 2023; formerly Director 1982-2021) has spent $2.4 million in April at an average price of $24.40. Having served as the former Chair and CEO for over 20 years, he left the company in 2021 but rejoined in March 2023 as President and CEO. In 2023, he spent $4.9 million buying stock in March and July at an average price of $28. Two years later, it is interesting to see him add another 20% to his holdings at a slightly lower price.
Michael Browne (SVP Sales & Operations, joined 2005) has spent $258,000 in April at an average price of $23.43, increasing his holdings from just 3,800 shares to 14,800 shares. His last purchase was for just $34,000 in September 2023 at $28.
Finally, James Snyder (CFO, joined 2003) made his first purchase, despite a very long tenure, spending $75,000 at $23.33, which more than doubled his holdings. This is a solid cluster of buying from three key officers. Note that all three have purchased shares after April 3rd, when the U.S. proposed new tariffs.
We are ranking the stock +1 (strongly positive signal).
