Vistra Corp (VST US, +1, 3-Sep-26)
Between August 24th and September 1st, Jim Burke (President & CEO since Aug 2022, joined 2016) purchased $1.2 million worth of stock at an average price of $135.38. While modest relative to his 1.24 million shareholding ($170m), the purchase is noteworthy.
His record as a buyer has been nearly flawless, and we ranked the stock multiple times based on his prior purchases at prices ranging from $18 to $24. This marks both a rare acquisition, his first since March 2023 (+1 rank), and the highest price he has paid to date. It also represents a reversal from a series of large option-related sales, most recently a $3.6 million sale at $162 in December 2025.
It is encouraging to see a long-serving CEO return to buying after more than 3 years, with a meaningful purchase at roughly 6x the price of his prior investments. The company reported its Q2 earnings results on August 7th.
We are ranking the stock +1 (strongly positive).
